Equatorial Nut Processors Ltd (ENP) was founded in 1994 by a local entrepreneur who wanted to make a positive impact on low-income farmers. Today, it is one of Africa's leading nut processing companies with around 2,000 staff.

Equatorial Nut Processors Ltd became an Oikocredit partner in 2018.

ENP buys organic macadamia nuts, cashew nuts and peanuts from smallholder farmers. The nuts are processed and sold on both the local and international markets.

Since 2014 the company has produced fortified foods for local retail stores and humanitarian organisations operating in East Africa.

ENP is a member of the African Cashew Alliance (ACA) and has obtained ACA's Quality and Sustainability Seal, which confirms compliance with internationally recognised quality and food safety standards and social and labour standards. It also works with research institutions to help train farmers and grow high-quality macadamia seedlings.

As part of its social responsibility towards staff, the company has set up a day-care facility for mothers with small children.
